Barefoot at Starbucks

I can honestly say that no matter what Starbucks I go to or have visited on holidays, I have been able to go barefoot.  I guess I can say Starbucks is "barefoot friendly".
Has anyone else been barefoot to Starbucks?
Any problems or discrimination?  If so, where were they?

  1. Yes! I actually was kicked out tonight! The supervisor of the store said that his boss claims it is not only store policy, but also the county health code. Well, I know it's not a real health code, and when I whipped out my letter from the county that proves it (he was a little confused as to why I carry such a thing around) he pretended like he didn't understand the wording of the letter and just handed it back to me. Well, i left without causing a scene and went home to send Starbucks a customer feedback email on their website asking for proof if it truly is store policy. We shall see in the days to come what the verdict is.

  2. Hi mate, well, actually, I've now been asked to put shoes on in 2 different SB shops, one in Issaquah and one in Snoqualmie in WA. They always cite the health code, but it's my understanding that the health code applies only to staff, not customers....in one store the manager said another customer had complained, to which I replied it's not my problem. In another instance I've pointed out that another customer is wearing flipflops, so what's the difference....they have both backed off...personally I have arthritis so it's more comfortable for me to not wear shoes.
I'm glad you haven't had a bad experience, but that's not my experience.

  3. Hi, I was thrown out of the Starbucks on campus of the Linfield College, McMinnville, Orgeon this morning. I was just standing around, about to buy my coffee and talking to a fellow student, as the waitress approached me, I think her name is Pam, and said I have to leave if I have no shoes on. I asked her if that's a joke, she said "no, we are selling food here, u can't be barefoot". My answer was, " that's fine, I am not taking out the food with my feet, don't worry". Then she said it's law... As an exchange student in America I don't wanna mess with the law there and obeyed, went home, put shoes on researched that: it seems there is not a single law that forbids the entrance to restaurants without shoes on. So I went back and told her she lied, there is no law like that. The response was a yelling, mad waitress who yelled at me: no shoes, no service... I said well then.... Another bad reputation for Starbucks, as my feet are probably cleaner and more hygienic than most of the shoes in there...

  7. Fight the guy that says that its illegal to be barefoot in starbucks. if a customer complains well they have to tell you just dont comply. be barefoot they have to make every customer happy. if the manager gets all this is my store you need shoes etc. know that it is not starbucks policy. it is not the health code. try asking for the written policy. try calling their boss. that worked for me. now i own the manager at this specific starbucks and everyone knows i can be bareofoot.
